Summary:
15 year old Sorami Kanata lives in a war torn land, and decides to enlist in the army. She joins a group of five and together they play music.
Fine Points/Thoughts:
- The OP is "Hikaru no Senritsu" by Kalafina. I really love it, mainly because it's a genuinely thought out song, not hyper pop mush.
- Artwise, the faces seem squished and chibi-fied. The linework is clean however and the colors used are very realistic.
- The town Kanata is stationed in, Seize, has one flaw in it's design. The town is supposed to be based off of various rural towns in Spain, observable through it's architecture. However rather than children running around with mask inspired by Spanish culture they are running around with masks of geisha faces and Japanese demons. They should have had a guy for that kind of stuff.
- Oh yeah, and they use yen.
- Ohmigosh, TOWN FOOD FIGHT!!!
- The music in this series is really, really good.
- This show has a great legend in it, which is total foreshadowing for the rest of it.
- The ED is "Girls, be ambitious" by Haruka Tomatsu. It's pretty good too, will be downloading.
End Thoughts?
I think this has a lot of potential.
